About Me

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.

My name is Regina Osteen Lynn. I'm writing a memoir about my family's experience in the Kenan Family Literacy Project in 1988.

After earning my GED in 1989, I went on to Mars Hill University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Immediately after graduating, I spent two years as an AmeriCorps Service Member with the NC Department of Agriculture. During this time I started the Listening to Families Resource Center in Madison County NC. Next I worked as a Social Worker with Madison County Department of Social Services and as Parent Services Coordinator with Madison County Schools. In 1998 I moved to Brunswick County NC and worked as a Social Worker with Brunswick County Department of Social Services until my retirement.

Everyone has potential. Some of us just need a place to start.

My four children and their families are doing well. I have 7 beautiful grandchildren.
